Image Hosting Websites

I will host your Template and Storefront graphics for you. You will still need to have your own Image Hosting or Web Hosting service to upload your photos. A few things you need to know about when choosing one, is the amount of bandwidth they allow, and do they allow direct linking. 

What does Image Hosting mean, and why do I need one?

All your photos for your auctions will all be direct linked. This means that every time someone looks at the page of your auction, they are pulling bandwidth from your Hosting site. The html file will supply the information needed to have your page load properly. If your hosting plan does not allow direct linking, you will end up with a page full of those dreaded boxes     . . . with the red x.

There are many helpful places with a lot of information about different hosting plans etc. I found some helpful information from their posts on the ebay community boards.

Free Image Hosting Sites

With hosting sites, you may find a problem with your graphics not showing on your listing at times. This is probably happening when the hosting site is backing up their servers or doing maintenance. Usually it is temporarily, only a few hours. I host all template and storefront graphics on www.photobucket.com

Paid Image Hosting Sites

Geocities Plus Hosting Plan
Although Yahoo/Geocities web hosting is available for free. In order to be able to direct link your photos and graphics, you would have to have the Geocities Plus Hosting Plan. A one time sign up fee of 10.00 plus a monthly charge of 4.95.  Allows 5 GB of transfer each month. Very reliable.
People have been very pleased with this site.

Auction Template Hosting Sites

There are several specially designed Auction Template websites that are not only your image hosting site, but also offer a variety of templates for their members. You can also add your own custom template. As a member, if you need me to add special <tags> into your template so it will be compatible with their template creator, please let me know exactly what they require.

When you upload the graphics, this site changes the name so you will have to replace the URL links individually to each graphic in your template html. If you have trouble doing that, I can help you.
